After having carried out work on various interior spaces in CITY 2, glass guardrail, the cladding of the floor openings and columns, the monumental staircase, the decoration of the central hall and entrances, we studied and renovated the external façades.
The works were carried out in the areas along the Bd Botanique, Rue Neuve and Rue de la Blanchisserie.
The challenge was to carry out the work without obscuring the shop windows and the entrances. 110 m³ of scaffolding were put up in order to carry out the renovation works, namely:
The new shop windows using bonded glazing and automatic entrance doors, the lacquered aluminium awnings, the curtain walls, the cladding of the columns that are able to support shop signs.
As well as the entrances on Bd Botanique – Rue Neuve, the bridge over Rue de la Blanchisserie.
But also the aluminium friezes, the glass cladding with silkscreen printing, the entrance doors with a decorative stainless steel coating on Rue de la Blanchisserie.
The challenge: we developed galvanised supports measuring from 0 to 700 mm standing out from the constructions on the façades that were able to hold and support all the new façade cladding elements.
Furthermore, we carried out our work in accordance with the PEB standards (standards of energy performance of buildings), which are always very complicated when carrying out a partial renovation.
The new design adds another dimension to the building and also to Rue Neuve; it links City 2 with the Galeria Inno building on which we had also worked at the beginning of the 2000s…
